Doctrinal Position
Deep Creek Friends Meeting is a fundamentalist Bible believing Quaker church. At Deep Creek Friends (Quakers) we believe:
- In one triune God, consisting of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
- We believe that God created the first man and woman, Adam and Eve, perfect without sin (Genesis 1:27, "God created man in His own image") and placed them in a garden paradise called Eden.
- The enemy of all humankind, the devil, entered the garden
and by deceit caused them to disobey God, thereby bringing sin into the
world and separating humankind from the God who created them (Genesis 3:23, "God sent him forth from the Garden of Eden").
- We believe and teach that the power of God came upon the
Virgin Mary; she conceived and gave birth to God’s Holy Son Jesus
(Luke 1:35, "The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee").
- God the Father loved humankind so much that He sent His
only begotten Son to earth so he could suffer and die for the sins of
all humankind, thereby making a way for people to be reunited with Him (Hebrews 9:26, "He [Jesus] appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself").
- Furthermore, we believe and teach that there is no other
way for humankind to receive forgiveness and be saved from the wrath to
come (Hebrews 9:22b, "Without the shedding of blood there is no remission [forgiveness] for sin").
- Jesus made a perfect sacrifice that was acceptable to God
the Father for the sins of all humankind and now all a person must do
in order to receive forgiveness is to repent of their sins in the name
of Jesus Christ, asking God to forgive them (Acts 4:12, "There is none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved").
